Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's first novel "Purple Hibiscus" was published in 2003 and was longlisted for the Booker Prize. Her second novel "Half of a Yellow Sun" won the 2007 Orange Prize for Fiction. Her work has been selected by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and the BBC Short Story Awards, and has appeared in various literary publications, including Zoetrope and The Iowa Review. Chimamanda won a MacArthur 'genius' grant in 2009, and in 2010 appeared on the New Yorker's list of the best 20 writers under 40. Her newest book "Americanah" published in this year has received high ratings and reviews.

Even as we celebrate the international success of this great writer, there was a time when publishers did not believe there was a market for Nigerian stories. And so international publishing houses rarely published the works of authors from Nigeria and Africa. But we are Africans and we know our unique experiences and the time has come for us to tell our own stories to the world. There are so many who have gone ahead of us and have made us so proud like; Chris Abani, Helon Habila, Seffi Attah, Uzodinma Iweala, Wole Soyinka and our dearly departed Chinua Achebe. They went through pains just to get their first publishing contract and since then they have soared like eagles. And that is what authors in this part of the world desire, the opportunity to reach out to the world through the stories they tell.

You don't have to go through their experiences anymore just to get your books published. Fynom believes in the creativity and excellence of indigenous authors. We are giving Nigerian authors a voice and a platform beyond their immediate environment to express themselves globally and be heard and Africa by extension. We are also providing a place to enjoy the writings of great Nigerian's who never had the opportunity or avenue to express themselves. We will also create access to the eBooks of Nigerian authors who have made a name around the globe. You will get the eBooks of the best authors in the world on our platform because we publish as well as distribute all genre's of books.

Digital publishing is far cheaper than traditional publishing. The reason why eBooks are cheaper than print is because of the finances put into printing. And so acquiring eBooks of authors would be very affordable. Also you will be able to carry your entire library of eBooks everywhere you go unlike printed copies. In your mobile devices or laptops. When you see a book you love you won't have to start looking for a bookstore or try ordering from an online store and wait for days and weeks before getting it. You can buy your eBook from any location as long as you have internet access and start reading immediately. Fynom not only connects authors to their audience, we give you access to your favourite authors and help you discover new and exciting talents in the publishing industry.

More to come from this space.
